We had a lovely morning on a little street called Rue Cler. My mom's guide book called it the "Rue Cler Walk" and it was intended to give you a glimpse into how and where real Parisians shope and live. It was a little street with every essential store on it, so you could go and do all of your shopping for the week and then sit and have a nice brunch. Kind of like the Wal-Mart of Paris, but not really. There was a bakery, a cheese shop, a butcher, a sea food store, a linens shop, fruit stands, flower shops, a general store and in between, about a dozen bistros and cafes. The Parisians would bring their kids, their dogs and their shopping bags and do their shopping followed by a long brunch at a cafe where they would sit, eat, smoke (holy cow everyone smokes here and they have no reservations about doing it inches away from you) and people watch. Minus our cameras I think we fit right in. Ha!
Oh yeah and an accordian player. Like this place could this place get any better!
Taking our seats among the locals.......much to the dismay of the restaurant owner.
My 6 Euro or $9.00 USD bottle of Pellegrino.
Oh you know, just a typical brunch for us. Nothing special. JK. Soooo yummy! My mom got a greek dish and I got a 'savory crepe' with eggs, ham and I think it was Gruyere cheese on top.
There was this cute artist who made clocks out of cheese containers. Very cool.
