Louvre and Jardin Des Tuileries (Part 1)

On our way from Musee d'Orsay to the Louvre we walked through the Jardin des Tuileries.

I turned around and saw the Eiffel Tower way off in the distance. Like this moment could get any more picturesque right?

Arc du Carrousel

The side of the Louvre. We opted to enter through Le Carrousel de Louvre (a mall) to avoid the line at the pyramid. I'm glad we did because in that mall there is the most extravagant food court (if you can even call it that) I've ever seen and no line!

The view looking up through the top of the pyramid from inside.

Poor suckers that waited in line for who knows how many hours at the pyramid entrance.

The tip of the inverted pyramid at the entrance.

The craziness around the Mona Lisa. I heard that the secret they think she's keeping is that she is really a man. That would be very fitting of our society, right?? To worship this painting and regard her as one of the most beautiful women in the world and she's really a dude. No comment.
Look! We are literally on the walls of the Louvre.

The light in this place was incredible.

Personally, I loved the old, chunky frames more than some of the artwork. The frames themselves were amazing works of art.

The view looking out one of the windows. Everywhere you looked in this place there was beauty.

After scouring this portion of the Louvre, we headed to the opposite side of the building to check out Napoleon's apartment.

Holy overcompensating and over the top everything. After seeing his apartment we opted not to head out to Versailles this trip because it was just as lavish and Kimberly and I have already been.

The chandeliers in his apartment were my favorite part. They were lavish and massive and ornate and insanely beautiful. Not as pretty as some of the ones I've seen in the temple, but I'll give Napoleon a close second on his attempts. =)

I don't even know if you can put a price on this view.....a $50 billion dollar view??? Priceless? Whatever the amount, it's incredible.
